Empowering female solo travelers to feel confident while chasing their travel dreams

About Kathrin di Lauro

I consider the ability to travel the world life’s greatest gift. Every day I travel feels like a new celebration, and I want you to be able to open this gift right alongside me.

My first life-changing present was handed to me at 14 years old. It was the catalyst that inspired my insatiable passion for solo travel. As I confidently waved goodbye to my parents and stepped onto the airplane in Munich, I had no idea I was stepping into the start of a journey that would continue for the rest of my life. Though I headed to Florence to learn Italian and immerse myself in the culture, I came back with so much more.

Looking back, I am incredibly proud of my 14-year-old self for taking that chance and stepping outside my comfort zone. Living in a new city with a family who did not speak the same language as me gave me my next gift – a spark of confidence to travel the world solo no matter the challenges or differences in language, culture, or lifestyle.

Now, 30 years later, my goal is to start that spark and eventually ignite that insatiable passion for you to also travel the world as a solo female traveler. Though I have lots to share, I also can’t wait to learn more about your journey. Let’s explore everything this beautiful world has to offer, together!

Dream about the big things, and enjoy every moment of the little things.

“When I turned 18, I said goodbye to Munich and headed out to see the world on my own terms. At 21, a wrong turn on a trip in Italy ended in an engagement to the most amazing Italian man. We have the happiest, most special marriage. I’m lucky to still be able to travel the world mostly solo as his business requires him to spend much of his time working in Bulgaria.”

One of my favorite travel wardrobe staples are my silk scarves. I don’t take any trips without a few of them in my suitcase, regardless of the season or climate in the destination. They are a simple way to show off your personal style while protecting you from the A/C or the outdoor elements. Plus, they take up virtually no space in your luggage!”

Your lifelong lust for solo travel begins here.

More About Kathrin di Lauro

Typically, this is where travel bloggers would have a section of their favorite destinations or bucket list dreams. I hope to become your new favorite travel blogger because I’m all about paving my own paths and doing what feels authentic, not necessarily what’s popular. What matters is when I write about a destination, I choose to do so because it was a gift to explore it (and you deserve the gift of traveling there too.) I steer clear of the ordinary because don’t we all deserve the extraordinary?

I’m fortunate to be able to say I’ve traveled to all seven continents. I honestly stopped counting how many countries I’ve visited a long time ago, and I don’t take it for granted. On my blog, you won’t find stories about the same major cities that everyone visits. (And if you do, I promise it will include unique perspectives and adventures.) I love hiking, exploring destinations by foot or bike, and experiencing nature. I also admit that I definitely love the finer things in life, especially when traveling.

When I travel to a new city, I travel with my entire mind, body, and soul. You’ll see wellness, authenticity, and sincerity woven throughout all the stories I share. Even if I can inspire one woman to take off on that solo travel adventure she SO deserves, I know all my efforts to create this blog have been absolutely worth it.

Are you ready to get inspired? Go ahead and dive right in!

It’s time you embark on the voyages you’ve been waiting your whole life for.

“Traveling solo doesn’t mean you’re alone. Sometimes the best company in the world is yourself. Do what makes your soul genuinely happy, and do it now. ”

“I believe every woman should have the self-confidence to embark on a rewarding journey of self-discovery through solo travel. I’m here to help you build it.“

Vegan Muffin Recipe_Featured Blog Image

I happen to find vegan baking very exciting, especially this blueberry vegan muffin recipe. I’ll let you in on a little secret. This vegan muffin recipe for oatmeal muffins is really just Muesli in muffin form. Except for the maple syrup and coconut oil, they are just as healthy as a muesli bowl - but so much better and so much more enjoyable! The subtle cinnamon in this recipe, and the scent that fills the room while baking them, make them a perfect weekend breakfast.
