Road trips are fantastic when you know the best hotels to stay in and the best areas to visit. Sterzing is the northernmost town in Italy and one of the highest towns in the Alps. With the Austrian border located just 15 km away, you can easily combine a trip to this pretty little town with visits to Innsbruck, Merano, and Bolzano.
Bolzano in Italy, and more specifically the South Tyrol province of Italy is one of those places for me. When I was a kid, I used to travel to Bolzano from Munich with my family. My parents were often guests at the Hotel Greif; the location right on Walther Square is unbeatable.
The Kurhaus Cademario Hotel & Spa has always been a destination for wellness. The panoramic Lake Lugano views from its altitude of more than 850 meters above the sea-level are unmatched. (Seriously, it is the highest wellness hotel in all of Ticino!) You will not be able to take your eyes off those views (nor will you want to), as you can see them from almost every angle throughout this 82-room property.
Of all the hotels I experienced in Lake Lugano, a few deserve to be described in more detail, especially this one. Today, I’m going to start with Hotel Lido Seegarten. Here’s my review!
